In the 1920s the United States was still struggling with the effects of World War 1 and rebuilding its economic and social structures. Newspapers were the main source of information, but radio began to build an audience. Along with these new information and entertainment providers came the fear that the media could take over peoples minds and control the way they thought and behaved. many people thought of Media as a "magic bullet" or a "hypodermic needle" that could penetrate people's bodies and minds and cause them to all react the same way to a mediated message. Now, media definitely has an impact or an effect on society today. For example, the 911 attack, media made it seem as if all Arabian people were terrorists. It made everyone look at Arabs differently. Its not just TV that effects how we act its also video games and music. Most video games that society plays today are violent games and those games definitely most peoples thoughts. The movies we watch has an effect on society as well. The difference between now and then is that our generation has more violent crimes than past generations because we are influenced by what we see in movies and video games and what we hear on the radio or in songs in general.

I think that in the future we will still be effected by media. In the 1920s we were effected by media and almost a century later we are still effected by what we read, see, and hear. i think that in the future it will be worse because I dont think that people today know that they are being influnced or effected by media.
